History
Originally founded as the Imperial Distillery in 1897, during its 100-year lifetime, the distillery changed hands several times, eventually falling into the lap of Pernod Ricard following its takeover of Allied Domecq in 2005.
By 2013 the Scotch whisky industry was experiencing a period of booming demand for both blends and single malts, prompting hoards of companies to invest in either expanding capacity at their existing distilleries or building a new site altogether.
With Imperial in need of much refurbishment, Chivas took the decision to demolish the site and build a new super distillery in its place.
Our Casks
In 2014, Dalmunach relaunched as one of Scotland’s newest and most contemporary distilleries. Utilising cutting-edge technology with age-old methodology, production started in November of that year.
Their signature ‘2015 Sherry Butt’ followed the much-hyped launch and become highly sought after for its refined approach to distilling. These casks have rarely been seen on the secondary market due to many of the original casks being bottled or held by private collectors.
Historically, early-production casks from Scotch whisky distilleries have always commanded unprecedented prices at auction from collectors and enthusiasts alike. With their current scarcity, we see this as an ideal medium-to-long-term investment.
